Reds Under the Beds

As many of you may already be aware of, the website known as “Redwatch” has become infamous for posting information on anti-fascists, which has been instrumental in several assaults and attacks, such as the recent firebombings in Leeds. Well, I have received many emails from you telling me about my own addition to this site, complete with an image of my “brave face” splashed across it.

This McCarthyesque site has branded me one of the “Reds under the beds,” as apparently, as with Bush & Co., if you’re not with them then you’re against them. The fact I am considered a threat to their own so-called cause is flattering indeed, as a journalist knows he’s doing a good job when he’s hated. Moreover, said website has provided me with much free publicity, and therefore I’d like to thank this ex-con and police informant named Simon Sheppard for spending long hours sitting at his technodweeb desk adding faces and names to his little website and making himself feel important, even though, from all accounts, even the rest of the fascists are laughing at him, too.

What’s disappointing, though, is that his “information” on me was just lifted straight from my old site! And even worse is the fact that, since that picture was taken, I’ve shaved my head and added many piercings and tattoos, in addition to having my long procrastinated sex change operation. Sorry, Nazis!

In all seriousness, though, whilst I’d like to thank those of you who have sent me messages expressing concern, I’d like to remind you that ethnic minorities have to live with this kind of threat each and every single day.

I’m not kidding myself – I know I’ve got it easy.
