In a climate crisis and ongoing pandemic, we have arrived at a critical point in history. Our very survival depends on different ways of doing things, and rejecting the doomed assumptions of endless extraction and endless profits perpetuated by the concentrations of privilege, power and wealth.

Let's take the bold steps forward to different ways of working together!

Even though I have always freelanced, for long periods of time I have been very much committed to certain log-term initiatives and/or contracts. Aside from my own work on The SilenceBreaker newsletter, I am now in an exciting position of "free agency," but I am also aware of the caring responsibilities that take up so much of my time, and that I take pride in.

With that in mind, I believe a world beyond capitalism and finance must be one where the only work worth doing can be re-framed as “care,” and therefore that is the kind that interests me. After all, the work we do today can help bring about that better future – and sharing information must be a key part of it, which is why I am a strong believer in the transformative power of media technology.

I have 25 years of experience as a media activist – as an artist, writer, documentarian, and facilitator – and am a graduate of the School for Social Entrepreneurs, having founded and co-founded numerous non-profit organisations.

I am currently interested in work that is:

  • Remote
  • Covid cautious
  • Part of a worker cooperative
  • Focused on raising awareness of important issues
  • Possibly connected to the increasing cases of Long Covid and/or myalgic encephalomyelitis (M.E.)

Opportunities will ideally meet as many of those criteria as possible, but by no means must meet all.

Of course, you may just want to have an informal chat with me, or invite me on your podcast. That's fine too. Just drop me a line (see contact page).
